about this spicy margarita recipe

These are the best spicy margarita recipe since it is simple, requires few ingredients, and lets the natural flavors come through! I start with my favorite homemade margarita mix, tequila, lime, and agave syrup. The margarita base reminds me of an authentic margarita recipe you would grab at your local Mexican restaurant! Then, the addition of fresh jalapeno (as little or as much as you like!), is what kicks up the heat in this margarita. Cheers, friends!

how to make the best spicy margarita recipe

The base is by far my favorite skinny margarita base. No mixes here.

  1. First, combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Side note, I like silver tequila for its clean taste but if gold is all you have, it would work just fine!
  2. To create the spicy margarita, strain into a chilled cocktail coupe that has been half-rimmed with sea salt, and top with fresh lime.

can you prepare a big batch?

Yes! This is the best approach when making for a crowd. Simply multiple the base recipe of the cocktail (tequila, lime liquor/juice, agave and jalapeno) based on how many cocktails you wish to make. Combine all of the ingredients, except the ice, and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then top with fresh lime wedges.

Can you prepare this spicy margarita ahead of time?

If you are looking to prepare these ahead of time, combine all of the ingredients, except the ice, and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then, when ready to serve, pour mixture over ice and top with fresh lime wedges!

Cinco de Mayo is the perfect excuse for a margarita, and these sound so refreshing! I'm somewhat of a salsa hog buuuut more of a guacamole hog. The restaurants never seem to bring enough!
