Mocha Smoothie

about this Salted Caramel Mocha Smoothie

So can I let you in on a little secret? There is actually no caramel sauce in this smoothie. Swear!

So how’d I do it? Dates! They are sweet and have an essence of caramel! Just like in my No-Bake Salted Caramel Chocolate Oat Bars.

CocoaVia is a new find that I have fallen in love with. CocoaVia® is a daily cocoa extract supplement that delivers the highest concentration of cocoa flavanols, which are scientifically proven to promote a healthy heart by supporting healthy blood flow†. Traditional cocoa processing, which includes drying, fermenting and roasting of beans, destroys many of the flavanols naturally present in the cocoa bean.  CocoaVia®supplement isolates the “good stuff” in chocolate in a convenient, versatile form, without all the calories and fat.

Mocha Smoothie

How to make this healthy mocha smoothie

  1. This is simple as can be, simply add all the ingredients to a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately!

Mocha Smoothie

Can you make this mocha smoothie ahead of time

Yes! You can add all the ingredients, except dates, to a storage container, and store in the freezer until ready to blend. Then add all the contents to a blender.

Mocha Smoothie

how to make freezer smoothie packs

Like I mentioned above, you can make multiple freezer smoothie packs ahead of time and store in the freezer. Not only is this great for this cafe mocha smoothie but also other smoothie recipes! Just add the ingredients such as fruit, even greens, to a container or freezer bag then store in the freezer. That will make assembling the smoothie much quicker!

    A fabulous smoothie! The "no sugar added" part is important for a lot of people. For anyone wondering about the 'caramel' element, as it seems some commentators are, there's actually recipes all around for a stuff called "Date Caramel Sauce" or "Vegan Date Caramel" (since regular caramel requires milk) because the dates really do end up with a 'caramel-ey' flavor when soaked/blended (and sometimes plant milk added with a sweetener to form 'sauce'. {some content removed as it was self-promoting -- With Salt and Wit}
