about this Champagne Margarita

Who would have thought to combine tequila and champagne? Two of my personal favorites when choosing something to wet my whistle! But to be honest, ever since having my daughter Kinsley, tequila and I haven’t really gotten along which really breaks my heart. there is nothing quite like a margarita on a summer day alongside an endless bowl of chips and salsa!

Every now and then, I put aside my love-hate relationship with tequila and make this tequila champagne cocktail. They take a regular margarita and step it up a notch worthy of your next celebration!

Ingredients you will need for this Champagne Margarita

  • Fresh lime juice
  • Tequila
  • Agave Syrup
  • Champagne
  • Lime Wedges

How to Make this Champagne Margarita

The base is by far my favorite skinny margarita base. No mixes here.

  1. First, start with fresh lime juice, a touch of sweetener and agave silver tequila. Side note, I like silver tequila for its clean taste but if gold is all you have, I would think it would work just fine!
  2. To create the Champagne Margarita, fill your cocktail glass a third of the way with ice, top with half of the lime mixture then top with champagne!

Can you prepare a big batch?

Yes! This is the best approach when making these for a crowd. Simply multiply the base of the cocktail (lime juice, tequila, and agave syrup) based on how many cocktails you wish to make. Combine all of the ingredients, except the ice and champagne, and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then top with champagne.

Can you prepare this Champagne Margarita ahead of time?

If you are looking to prepare these ahead of time, combine all of the ingredients, except the ice and champagne, and store in the fridge until ready to serve. Then, when ready to serve, pour mixture over ice and top with champagne!

What to serve with this Champagne Margarita

This is the fun part that you can make these for girls nights, celebrations such as New Year’s Eve or just to take Taco Tuesday up a notch! But a bowl of chips and homemade salsa, or Honey Chipotle Chicken Tacos would pair perfectly!

Sometimes the reason to celebrate is simply that there is a bottle of champagne in the fridge! Cheers, friends!

I think you might as well start planning now because you know how fast 6 months goes by. ;) And aww. I'm happy he's napping more! I don't have kids and I can't even begin to imagine how insanely difficult it must be. It's good you have these margaritas! ;)

I'm so happy your little man is starting to be less fussy! It didn't happen for us until now at nearly 20 months, and sleep deprivation definitely makes everything much harder! I think I'm only noticing now in retrospect how much I need decent sleep! So, 6 months? Definitely calling for a Margarita celebration!!

Great combination - saving this recipe for a summertime celebration! Also - nap schedules are the worst. My little guy (now 1.5) was a GREAT nighttime sleeper until an absolutely abysmal 9 month sleep regression, but he literally did not take a single nap in his crib until he was 15 months old. When he started napping actually *in his crib* it's like music played and angels descended from the heavens because I actually had AN ENTIRE HOUR when I could do things without holding him!

Awww! I my son was a super rough baby too! I seriously could've been considered legally insane for the first 4 months of his life because we never slept...which was so different than my older daughter who was a sleep champ. It's amazing once they start figuring out life and get into a rhythm! I'm so glad you guys have hit your stride...definitely something to celebrate!
