And just like that, I am thrown back into reality.

Apologies for being MIA the past week or so. We jetted off to Florida for a week vacation with my family. And needless to say, preparing myself along with my hubs and the babe for the trip was a bit more stressful than I had anticipated. Silly me for thinking it wouldn’t be too painful…

Can I tell you how delicious the city of Naples is?! Every single meal I devoured was out of this world. I mean, my mouth is still watering at the flame grilled pork chop covered in blue cheese. Which I actually whipped up for my Valentine last night. Something about that stinky, salty cheese just wins me over every time. Oh, which reminds me, would anyone be interested in that recipe? If so, raise your hand (and make sure to tell me…). I served it over a bacon and brussels sprout hash. You know, because pork squared is how I say I love you.

Despite a cold front moving through Florida the week we were there, I still didn’t mind the mid 60’s compared to the arctic chill in KC. Anything to forget how my cheeks get frostbite on my walk to get the mail.

Have I mentioned how much I despise winter? And why haven’t I moved south yet? Big thoughts here peeps.

While on vacation, it is a must to for me to seek out a fruity, frothy adult beverage to get me in true vacation spirit. Not like college spring break spirit. Like mama needs to chill out and be semi normal spirit. I took full advantage of having five sets of helping hands; and Aiden took all the snuggles he could get. And those fruity beverages? I just had them on repeat. The pool boy (aka. the hubs) just kept pouring. Who am I to say no?

Since drinking fruity, adult beverages all day might be shunned upon, I will gladly sip on this Pineapple Orange Creamsicle Smoothie in its place. It is frothy, full of tropical flavors and takes me back to my childhood days of eating copious amounts of orange creamsilce push pops. When I heard that ice cream mans bell, I went running.

The flavors of vanilla and orange make up the iconic creamsilce flavor. Then, throw in pineapple for a tropical twist and I am in heaven. This smoothie is easy to whip up; as in 5 ingredients with an optional fourth, if you aren’t a fan of protein powder. While this smoothie can be made without it, I highly suggest it as it helps with the consistency. But if you are looking for a creamy and thick smoothie without protein powder, add a bit of vanilla greek yogurt. It will up the protein to keep you going like the energizer bunny!

If you like pina coladas…just kidding. If you like orange julius’ and smoothies…this has your name all over it!

This looks really tasty and we love smoothies in the morning so this is something we would try! I think I might try it with the greek yogurt option since we always have some of that in the house. One question - do I need to cut the orange out of the membranes or just peel it? (Also, check your title spelling. :) )

The greek yogurt is really good in it! And I zested it first, then peeled it and removed the middle membrane. Enjoy!
