This is how I save my wallet from venturing down to the local bakery and splurging.

I am not talking about splurging on a muffin, chocolate chip cookie or bagel. I am looking at that dreamy, creamy, pumpkin whipped cream cheese!

I thought of no better way to welcome fall with yet another pumpkin recipe! We have pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin brown sugar pop tarts and now we have my morning indulgence. Read that as, I have been smearing this on my toast every morning for the past month. No shame. And now that fall is officially here, this morning I am enjoying a big cup of pumpkin spice coffee (thank you Target!) and toast with a good slather of this cream cheese!

Have you ever had whipped cream cheese? Let’s be clear. I believe it is on a different playing field than its counterpart; non-whipped. It’s extra silky, light, fluffy, airy, dreamy. Everything regular cream cheese wants to be. But can’t be. So when I discovered a local bakeries Pumpkin Whipped Cream Cheese a few years ago, it was slightly embarrassing how often I would find detours just to visit them to get my fix.

I was addicted.

This may be the easiest holiday recipe you could make. It requires one bowl. A few ingredients and just a few minutes of your time. And is the way to start every morning (or make an afternoon) from here on forward.

Simply take softened cream cheese, a bit of pumpkin puree, a bit (or a lot…) of brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice.  Then whip for 5 minutes until light and fluffy. This is a great spot to take a sample. Spoonful if you will.

So change your plans today, you have pumpkin whipped cream cheese in your future.
