It’s been a week since the most scandalous type movie has hit the theaters.

Tell me! Did you drag your husband to it? Or did you gather a few girlfriends to sit through the awkward/squeamish love story?

In case you don’t know which movie I am talking about, 50 Shades of Grey is on the big screen and making some big headlines! With a movie with some pretty racy scenes, I can see why!

Coming from someone that didn’t even make my way through the first book (a little too graphic for my heart), I did pass over the idea of dragging Mr HIT but I did have a day date with my best friend. We both love those sappy love stories.

With all the awful reviews flying around as expected, we both sat awkwardly in our seats as Christian Grey swooned Anastasia. While I did enjoy the intense love story, the remaining scenes of movie seemed a bit slow to build. While the intense passion parts that are notorious in the movie are left out (thank goodness), I can’t say it was the worst movie I have been too.

Granted, I am not a die hard movie goer. That is my husband as he will spend a good hour just watching previews on our date nights in. Which ultimately leaves me to fall asleep well before he finally narrows a movie down. Woop. Woop.

And you know what else has been catching my eye lately? This salad! (Smooth I know.)

I am not sure why it has taken me so long to whip up and photograph this recipe for you all. I have been enjoying this for years.  But don’t you worry. That wait is over and I promise you will be hooked to this salad in no time.

This was my go to salad when I first ventured into the corporate world after college. It is quick to throw together, full of flavor, contains something a lil sweet, a lil salty and a lil creamy to keep all my taste buds happy.

Fresh pears rank high on my list to be included in to salads. Like in this quinoa dish; they are subtle yet provide a sweet creaminess that don’t compare to other fruits. The tangy blue cheese because who can so no to blue cheese when paired with fruit. If you do, then please just walk away.

I kid! Sorta. But if blue cheese isn’t your thing, then swap out with goat cheese or even feta. Both are perfectly acceptable. This salad is ideal for busy weeks as you can throw it all together a few days ahead then just add the dressing before serving. And want to make this dish even better? Add grilled chicken. OR Bacon!

Yes. Bacon for all.

you're a brave girl for venturing to see that movie :) I didn't read the books, but based on the previews alone, its a bit too much fro my taste - this salad however is PEARFECT for my tastes. SALTY blue cheese and sweet fruit. YUM

Salads are one of my favorite go-to dinners. You can never go wrong with "green" food! :-) This one is definitely going on my must-try-soon list. Best part of this one is that I just about have all the ingredients already. Yay me! The dressing is right up my alley, thanks! By the way, your blog is great! Pictures are very nice, they gives me an idea on how the food should look like. You should see some of my finished dishes.....LOL!! Talk about yikes!! Pinned!

i won't be seeing the movie, nor read the book. It just doesn't appeal to me in any way. I do love this salad. It reminds me of A salad at one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I need to make this like, yesterday!

Crunchy, sweet, tart, pungeant - this salad sounds amazing! I haven't...and don't even want to...see that one. I started the book, and lost interest almost as soon as I did. Just doesn't appeal to me. Give me Jane Austen anyday...
