A ‘Special’ Kind of Recipe! Surprise!

Baby K Announcement

I guess I can keep secrets after all…

Not only have we moved into a bigger house, but we are expanding our family! I am due October 28th and we couldn’t be any more thrilled! I am 16 weeks today and all I can say is thank goodness my first trimester is over. It was a rough one.

If you pay great attention to detail, you may noticed I have backed off from 4 to 3 posts a week (with the Cooking Class Files thrown in there every now and then). With being nauseous most of the first trimester, recipe testing, photographing, editing and writing about food was a struggle. When veggies make you queasy, eating is rather unexciting. So my Instagram life was become rather slow! You can only show so many pictures of almond butter english muffins! And that Kale Power Salad? I can’t even. So sad since it’s so gorgeous.

Just thought to let you all in on the most exciting part of 2015 for the Kohrs’ family! And any pregnancy tips, favorite items or recipes? Let me have em! I am all ears!

YAY Megan!! I saw your other posts and wondered… Starting your own family is such an exciting time. Sleep extra when you can even during the day. Enjoy the time (between sickness and exhaustion) and I can't wait to see if it's boy or girl! :D

Congratulations - that's so exciting! One thing I found with the nausea (and not to scare you, but it DID NOT go away for me for the full 9 months all three pregnancies!) is that eating helped. Seems counterintuitive since it's the last thing you want to do, but eating something bland would help it go away. I felt much better once I figured that out! Good luck with the pregnancy - hope you feel great the rest of the time and there's no more nausea! :)

Oh man! Luckily mine has backed off that past few weeks. But ou are right...eating does make it better! My husband never understood why I didn't just eat. And you are right. It was the last thing that sounded good!! Thanks for stopping by, Stacey! Much appreciated :)

It's one of the hardest things for us to do as bloggers, to give ourselves permission to create less content, so it's really inspiring that you're able to do that to focus on yourself and your health. Congrats!!!! I'm so happy and excited for you!!! I've got some serious baby fever so I'll live vicariously through you for a bit. The second trimester is usually better, so hopefully you'll be able to eat (almost) normally again! I remember I was obsessed with waffles and peanut butter sandwiches with pepper jack cheese and honey!
